![]() ![]() I am like, that was 5 years ago, I have no idea who that is. Metro tells me to get in touch with him and ask him where he bought the phone LOL. I bought it used from a guy on Craigslist. After 30 min of back and forth with Metro PCS, I am told the resolution from my ticket is that I need to contact the original company the phone came from. I then explain that Metro is not helping me and the unlock is a T-Mobile APP and he tells me that the phone was used on Metro PCS so they need to help me and it's on the T-Mobile network. ![]() I called T-Mobile and explained my situation and he puts me on hold and tells me he has Metro PCS on the phone and that she will help me. Any ideas? I have no problem buying a different phone but I would want to use Amazon since I have credit there but I am not sure if the phone I buy will work with Tello even if I am able to get the IMEI since that's what's currently happening to me. I did buy the phone used on Offerup but again, Metro PCS assures me it's unlocked and told me it's a BYOD. How can a phone that is unlocked not show up as unlocked and only temporary unlock works? I had Metro PCS for 935 days. I'm thinking worst comes to worst I can unlock my phone every month but then I read I am only allowed 5 unlocks a year. That was 2 days ago.ĭoes anyone here have any ideas? Has this happened to you? My phone is an LG V30. They were supposed to get back to me in 3 days but never did so I called again and got a new ticket number with the same we will get back to you in 3 days. I called up Metro PCS again and the guys says he never heard of temporary unlock and to just wait for them to get back to me about why permanent unlock is not working. A message on the screen says it will be unlocked until May 5th. So I didn't want to wait 3 days and so I start trying other stuff and I decided to try temporary unlock and low and behold, it said success and my phone started to work. I tell him I can't be without a phone for 3 days and he says he will escalate the issue but that's all he can do. All of these trouble shoots were for permanent unlocked even though a temporary unlock was also an option. ![]() He makes a ticket that can take up to 72 hours to resolve. He goes through more trouble shooting but nothing is working. Metro PCS again tells me my phone is unlocked and that I should not be getting that can't unlock message. So after like 20 min, he told me I need to call Metro PCS. The T-Mobile permanent unlock app would tell me my phone is not eligible to be unlocked. I explained that my phone was unlocked and he took me through a bunch of steps to try to get it unlocked. A message popped up saying that my phone needed to be unlocked. I used google voice to call Tello and they said to reset my phone and it should be working. Problem was that I had no service or data. So 13 days ago, my sim card arrived and I ported over to Tello with no issues. 3 weeks ago, I entered my IMEI into the Tello website and it said my phone was eligible to BYOP and I called Metro PCS and they assured me my phone was unlocked. ![]()
